the hotel has an excellent location with a perfect view of the blue mosque.
Very nice place and wonderful location with a brilliant view from the balcony on Blue Mosquee and sea. Friendly welcome,
Breakfast and dinner OK but they do not meet the standard of the hotel,Could be better!
I have visited Istanbul many times and the stay at the Sultanahmet was a nostalgic reminder of many happy earlier visits. The hotel was excellent value and in a wonderful position for visiting the many attractions in the old city.
Everything was fine.
Received an upgrade to a room with a balcony, the view of the Bosphorous was absolutely spectacular! Hotel is very beautiful, feels like you are in a palace.
Just that the front desk receptionist could have been a little more approachable and maybe smile once or twice! Also, bathroom was very small, to close the door you have to step into the shower to get out of the way.
A charming hotel with a wonderful unique Turkish design and atmosphere,in a very good site ,providing a visitor with almost everything he could expect.
My only regret was the poor lonely canary stuck out of site as if in solitary confinement.I understand that its mate recently died and suggested it should be moved to somewhere around the front desk so that it could at least have the company of people active around it
The personnel is incredibly helpful, front desk manager helped me organize my leisure time in Istanbul perfectly. Breakfast is abundant and delicious! Most amazing thing is the location, right in front is the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia clearly seen from the side as well as the Bosforus. No tram lines, quiet and peaceful. Hammam style bathroom! Free computer with internet
The upgraded room & location location location & helpfulness of staff & free pickup at airport
Location Location Location. The absolute best for sightseeing, wanderings, palaces, bazaars, located in the old section of town, a walker;s paradise. The hotel is historic, romantic & charming and the staff are excellent.
I was sad they didn't have an elevator.......the best rooms are on the top floors.
I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel, and didn't regret I chose it. comfortable, very clean, located in a central yet very quiet area, 2-3 min walking distance to major sightseeing spots, faces the Blue Mosque, and the restaurant offers the roof seats with a view of the Marmara Sea. it is just charming to sit above the old Istanbul roofs, sip your morning coffee enjoying the sunrise, watching sea-cargos and ships moving towards the Bosphorus. The breakfast was very good. A wide choice of everything to meet tastes of all kinds. The hotel has a lovely garden in front of it and brings all charms a boutique hotel in such a historic place can bring! Ah! hammam style bathrooms added to authentic experience! There is a shower option, certainly!
many people mention poor sound proof of the rooms, it is true, but it is a common shortcoming in most of the little hotels there. Truthfully speaking, the hotel was very quiet during nights, the only noise was around evening/dinner time when people walked in and out.
The location is ideal for a city break. Direct view of the Blue Morque from the front and a view over the Bosphorous from the terrace to the rear.
Few Facilities but it didnt really matter.
Superb location - only a short walk from the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Topkapi Palace, the Mosaics Museum (across the road) and the city's excellent tram network.
We missed having a more conventional, enclosed shower or bath in the bathroom. While the bedside lights were fine for reading, the other lighting in the bedroom and bathroom was dim.
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel, because it was near all the cultural and historical attractions in the city.
The breakfast was a bit poor, and the bathroom is very small.
Excellent hotel, very wel located right behind the Blue Mosque. The staff is very friendly and rooms are SO turkish you wake up and know where you are. Great internet connection and very nice restaurant. View from room is spectacular. Next time, I will just be back here.
convenience to old Istanbul and the major tourist stops.
traffic in and out during the busy hours. We had as a group one horrible food recomendation by the desk. a bad street in the fish market area, a restaurant run by rip-off people and their friends. Everything we did at the restaurant was an argument. We should have left immediately and had pizza.
The location of the hotel was perfect for us, the staff helpful, room was large and with the view we had paid for.
Bathroom had a slight odour - probably from the drain
